Griffin the Grad

Well he did it, he graduated from Kindergarten with a cap, diploma, and a walk across the stage. He was announced as, "most likely to become an entomologist or and kind of 'ologist' he wants to be." Before the big ceremony he visited his 1st grade class for next year and met some of the 1st grade teachers. After the graduation we went back to the Lake Colby School for, of course, cake! It seems that every school function for Griffin now ends in cake. Which he doesn't mind.

River 2008

Daddy helped to organize our annual Saranac River Clean-up on Saturday and Griffin was very excited to volunteer. We found everything from bottles and cans to televisions and tires. Griffin found a blue toy gun that of course he kept. We were on the river for three and a half hours and Griff did great and was a huge help.

Ruby Loves Life!

Take me out to the ball game

Griffin played in his first baseball game today. He was anticipating the big game all weekend. Ruby was just as excited for the game as Griffin, mostly because of the post game ice cream. The game was two innings, everyone had a chance to hit, and everyone had fun.

Ruby practiced racing during the game. This is her starting stance. Notice the finger.

Griffin's first hit!

A visit to Vermont

Lake Colby School's end-of-the-year field trip was to Shelburne Farms and the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, both in Vermont. The kids were especially fond of the fancy chickens that run free throughout the farm and the nursing pigs. Ruby also liked the barn cat and the herb garden. Griffin's highlight, besides goofing around with his classmates, was the funny lama with a bad haircut.

Teddy Bear Factory

The Vermont Teddy Bear Factory field trip was quite a hit with the kids. It included a factory tour a la Willy Wonka and a chance to construct your very own teddy. Griffin, after much deliberation, chose a bright red teddy and named him Fire. Ruby, of course, chose purple and named her Lilac.
