Sisters, brothers too

We spent a sunny day on the Lower Lake on Sunday. We paddled with our friends Peter and Michelle and their daughters Rosemary and Eleanor to the Sister Islands for swimming, snacks, and hangin' out in the sun.

Griffin's has been having a great time playing baseball with his friends this year. He and his team mates named their team the Fire Dogs, and they play for the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department and the last game of the season will be kids vs. parents. I think got we got this one.

Field Days 09

1st Graders Field Trip

Griffin's class has been doing a study unit on camping and we thought it would be a great idea to have his class walk downtown to Lake Flower and talk about canoe camping with Daddy. After a short talk about being safe on the water, we loaded 14 students and 2 teachers into canoes and paddled around Lake Flower. For many it was the first time they had ever been in a boat on the water.

Weekend getaway

We spent last weekend along the eastern shores of Lake Ontario. We started our coastal tour by going to our friends Austin and Jessica's wedding. Afterward we met up with Grandma Shelia and Grandpa Ed at the Rainbow Shores "Motel". We stayed in a "cozy" little "cabin". We started father's day off by going out to breakfast.

Then we hit the beach!

After the beach the Smith's followed the coast Northward, and the Kelly's went South.

We then headed into Sacketts Harbor for some history on the War of 1812 , outdoor dining, and crazy colorful ice cream.
