Shovel Ready!

I hope the CPS doesn't come down on me for the recent work crew I put together for some ditch digging at Dewey Mountain. The snow is coming and it's time to get those trails ready for skiing. We had a recent trail work volunteer day and adults were outnumbered by kids 2 - 1.

Pumpkin pickin' time

Griffin and his classmates travel to the Champlain Valley for a visit to the pumpkin farm. Everyone enjoyed wagon rides, farm animals, lawn games, and of course pumpkin pickin'.

To the Moose River with Daddy

Ruby, Griffin and Mama spent last weekend at the Moose River Festival with Daddy. Daddy was happy to have his own personal cheer leaders for this years festival.

First Snow!

Well actually it was the second snow, the first one didn't stick that well. Zoe said she doesn't think she's ever seen Griffin get out of bed, get dressed, and run out the door that fast before. And of course Ruby was right behind him. They wasted no time creating a "snow dog" and "snow cat."

The final celebration

We had an awesome final celebration of Zoe's 40th. The weather delivered everything from rain showers to rainbows, and a dramatic sunset was followed by a full moon rising over the Saranac River. We ate 85 hamburger, 48 hot dogs, 40 chicken breasts, 50 ears of corn and drank a keg of beer. At one point 20 - 30 kids filled the dance floor in one of the best kids dance parties ever seen. Needles to say, lots of friends and family helped us celebrate Zoe's birthday.

Unfortunately I mistakenly erased some of the party photos. Luckily Grandma Sheila and Todd documented the event.

Happy Birthday Mama!!!

Mama's birthday celebration started off with breakfast in bed along with gifts and cards. After the temperature climbed out of the 20's, yeah that's right 20's, we headed out for a beautiful day of paddling on Stoney Creek Ponds, Stoney Creek and the Raquette River. We fished, ate cake and berries, and even took a quick dip in the freezing cold river. Brrrrrrrrr! Our day ended with a great Italian meal from Villa Vespa. Yummmmmy!

Camping with the Cooks

We had an awesome canoe camping trip with the Cooks on Labor Day weekend. Highlights: paddling by light of a full moon, fishing for sun fish and bass, swimming at the beach, exploring a new lake by canoe, eating s'mores, listening to owls at night, eating pancakes, and lot o' fun in the sun with friends!
