Bike ride to the beach

Hilton Head is filled with bike paths. It is a fun way to get around the island. We rented a couple of beach cruisers and headed to the beach. 

All of the beaches are public but public access is limited on the island. This particular beach is run by the Town and has a nice park - including this modern merry go round.

Very windy day didn't keep us off the beach.

If the heated pool is not warm enough there is a hot tub.

..and as Griffin calls it, the cold tub..or the unheated pool which is surprisingly cold!

Pit Stop at the US National Whitewater Center in Charlotte NC

Daddy talked us into making a short-ish pit stop at this place. You can see why. It has a man made whitewater course, a high ropes course, zip line, rock climbing wall, and great mt bike trails. The kids are a little young to take advantage of this place...but Jason isn't! 

This is a boat full of rafters we watched from a pedestrian bridge. 

Jason hooked up with some of his friends from Saranac Lake over Facebook (they also just happened to be in the area) so we stopped for a short paddle. 

Back in the car for another 7 hours!!

Breakfast Award for Griff

Spring Skiing!!!

We had a great day skiing at Whiteface Mountain on Sunday! It was 50 degrees, the sun was shinning, and we didn't have to pay!! It was Ruby's first time ever skiing downhill on her own and she did amazing!! As for Griffin, he has not been downhill skiing for two years and he also did awesome!! The discussion on the car ride home was whether to buy season passes to Whiteface for next year or not.
